How is the diesel cheaper than regular? This is north of Fort Worth

Glut on the market, low prices all around, warm area not in Winter with no need for heating oil.

Still, pretty amazing. Crazy times.

Not to get my Oppo card revoked, but I fucking HATE diesel and hope it dies. The last thing I want is to live in a country that smells like a Spanish city.

Texas Brotruck lobby demanded it.

Similar delta in WA for months. Especially fun in a diesel car where the gasoline equivalent model requires premium.

But do you remember when that was the year-round norm?

A few weeks ago all the prices on the digital price sign at the BP near us all read 0.00 99/100 so I was contemplating going in and demanding to be charged one cent per gallon. I did not. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone did though.

I remember paying $.85/gal for regular 30 years ago.

What about it?

I paid $1.83 at Costco before we left. It got up to about $2.40 in Chicago, and went down steadily as we returned south. It was under $2 in OK, but then jumped to $2.25 when I came across the Red River into northern TX.

Ruins things, can ruin an engine. Carbs too. AAA has come out about the 15% ethanol fuels ruining things. I run additives to counteract it in my Z. I don’t think diesel has any so I’m ok with the Merc.

I remember when that was normal pre-2005ish. It made me smile a bit filling up my 92 F-250.

It’s below gas where I am, too.

I remember paying about that much for gas in the late 1990s. It was so awesome.

I wish they’d get rid of this ethanol crap in everyday fuel...

Yeah, for my Z I try to fill up with high octane at the race track since I don’t put a ton of miles on the car. It’s Sunoco no ethanol and higher octane options that regular stations. I have triple carbs so the more the better!

I’m seeing wild fluctuations just driving around Dallas county. It’s a sign that we’re pretty near the bottom, I think.
BTW, glad your back safe.

Thanks. 3,241 miles in 12 days. I think that’s a new record for us. This is my sort of vacation. I hope to put together some sort of travelogue to share on Oppo in the next week or so.

Yeah hurts older cars more than newer ones, but I agree it sucks.

Enjoy it now while you can. The people that get their $$$ from gas will soon spend it and raise the prices again.

Prices in Austin are already creeping back up. I’m glad we finished our 3,000 mile road trip just the other day.
